Letters per year. The stream rises from the late 1940s, peaks in 1957 — 1,056 letters in a single year — then tapers. The 1950s are the heart of the archive.

Yiddish concentrates in personal letters and letters to women. Mixed letters are those that move between Hebrew and Yiddish within a single letter — a Hebrew salutation and framing around a Yiddish body was common. Language is detected heuristically and still being calibrated.

Kept beside these volumes is a separate corpus of 789 English letters (1944–1992, weighted to the ’60s and ’70s) — see the English study. Letters also arrived in French and Russian; the replies went out in Hebrew or English — “since my secretariat does not write French, my reply comes in Hebrew” (vol. 7, א'תתקצו).
לצד הכרכים נשמר קורפוס נפרד של 789 מכתבים באנגלית (תש״ד–תשנ״ב, רובם משנות התש״כ–תש״ל) — העיון באנגלית. הגיעו מכתבים גם בצרפתית וברוסית — והמענה יצא בעברית או באנגלית: ״וכיון שבהמזכירות שלי אין כותבים צרפתית, בא המענה שלי בעברית״ (כרך ז, א'תתקצו).
Median body length (characters) per year, from 1950 on. Steady around 850–1,000; the dip in 1971–1974 reflects the surge of short telegrams and blessings in volumes 29–32.

Almost the entire archive was written from one desk. The place field is sparse and sometimes holds a blessing instead of a city — to be corrected in a future review.
כמעט כל הארכיון נכתב משולחן אחד. שדה המקום דליל ולעתים מכיל ברכה במקום עיר — לתיקון בביקורת עתידית.
A parallel archive sits beside the printed set: the teshura archive — letters and maanos (the Rebbe's short written responses) gathered from 1,502 scanned wedding-booklet publications, their full texts now readable and searchable. On its own it holds 4,578 unique records: 1,471 letters and 3,107 maanos. Side by side: the printed volumes hold 12,727 letters; everything gathered together comes to ~17,305 records. A first text-fingerprint check matched only ~170 teshura items to the volumes held here (א–לב) — but the later printed volumes are not yet in the archive, so the "unpublished" finding is provisional (and the check catches near-verbatim overlap only).
